The Problems we’re Solving:

  1. Under Voting

One of the major problems we discovered is that people enter the polling place with an incomplete ballot. Meaning they have no idea who to vote for, in some of the positions in government. Some Decide on the spot based on name familiarity and nothing else, some leave those positions blank. This is a serious problem as the majority of our democracy, the 400,000 strong elected officials, is actually made up of local officials. The ones we document and care for the least. We approach this problem with big data, gathering information about our seated officials, tracking them, and adding metrics to their elected terms.

  2. Misinformation

With Political Advertisements being the leading medium people learn about their candidates- Misinformation becomes rampant. As advertisements by design are biased towards their sponsors.

  3. No Metric to judge performance

It’s hard to know if an elected official actually performs well in his or her job. We want to help our voters by providing insight.

Powered by data from the Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) 4 Pillars we could provide insight on how an executive official like a Mayor, Governor, or even by extension the President, develops their area(s) of responsibility. The Pillars include Government Efficiency, Economic Dynamism, Infrastructure, and Resiliency.

For Legislative officials like a member of the House of Representatives, we gather data from Congress.gov.ph and analyze it, identifying who proposed what, to what committees they proposed it to, and how many bills they principally authored actually passed into law.

  4. Time Consuming Research

It just takes too much time to know about our candidates. Especially the one’s running for local positions in government.

We want to empower our users with Data making the research process a lot faster.

  5. Scarce and Scattered Info about our politicians.

There is no central Database for our politicians and candidates. We are building that.

Application Status

We have finished designing and programming the app and has been publicly released prior to the 2022 National Philippine Elections.
